Chit is table ordering built around the one artifact every kitchen already runs on: the ticket. A guest scans a QR code at their table and lands on a QR menu, not a marketing site - they browse by category, ask an AI ordering assistant for a pick by diet, mood, or budget ('something vegan, quick'), and the item lands straight in a sticky cart. The kitchen sees every order the second it fires on a three-column live queue (New / Preparing / Ready), styled as the same sharp, monospace 'kitchen ticket' surface reused at checkout confirmation, live order tracking, and in guest receipts, so an order always looks like an order. The owner's side covers menu management (inline price edits, an in-stock/86 toggle, an AI-assisted 'add item' flow) and an AI insights page with a day-by-hour demand heatmap and an actionable feed - forecasts, low-stock flags, slow-item calls - each with an accept/dismiss action. Both AI surfaces are deterministic and rule-based out of the box, with a documented seam to swap in a real model call. The marketing site runs on 'Midnight Kitchen': a dark-first, high-contrast design with one flame-red accent, a full-bleed photography hero with a hand-drawn accent circle, a bento-style feature grid mixing real product-UI mockups with food photography, and a photography-led testimonial - not a generic icon-card layout. Fully responsive down to a phone (the dashboard sidebar becomes a slide-in drawer below the md breakpoint), audited with axe-core for landmark structure, heading order, focus visibility, and color contrast. Flash-free dark mode, strict TypeScript, zero-config - the menu, live queue, and both AI features run on seeded data with documented seams for a real database, a model provider, and Dodo Payments.
