AI-ready templates

Templates your coding agent can work with from the first prompt

Most templates leave a coding agent to guess at the layout, the token system, and which files are safe to edit. Every TheKitBase template ships with agent instruction files at the root of its source, so the agent starts with the answers.

What ships in each template

CLAUDE.md

Claude Code

Commands, routes, where data lives, the token system, conventions, and what not to touch.

AGENTS.md

Agents that follow the AGENTS.md convention, including OpenAI Codex

The same instructions in the shared format several coding agents read.

.cursorrules

Cursor

The same instructions as a rules file Cursor loads for the project.

The three files carry the same instructions. Open the project in your agent and it loads the file it reads on its own. You don't need to paste anything in.

Which AI features are real

Five templates include an AI feature. Each one runs in demo mode by default, with no model and no API key, so you can see the full flow before you connect your own model. The table shows what each one does out of the box.

How to use it

  1. Buy a template and unzip it. Open the source folder in your agent.
  2. Ask for a change in plain language, such as "make the primary colour a deep green."
  3. If you're not sure what to ask, start with the prompt cookbook for your template. Each prompt names the file it changes.
  4. Run the build and check the pages you touched before you ship.

The instruction files describe the template. They don't make your product smarter. The assistants in the templates stay in demo mode until you connect a model, and the checkout flows stay mock until you connect a payment provider. Each template's README and prompt cookbook says exactly where to do that.
